I’m Gaetano, born and raised in Newark, NJ. I’m an advocate and researcher for social justice, cannabis, and psychedelics. I worked for over 25 years in cancer research with thousands of cancer patients and medical professionals internationally. I used to be a suit & tie guy, supervising MDs and PhDs, and yes, I used to work in pharmaceuticals. So, what changed? What inspired me to break away and get into cannabis? Well, I saw a need for patient care for those diagnosed with cancer. I met these patients, and they strongly advocated for medicinal marijuana use. My heartfelt breaks for these patients and for the communities like mine of Newark NJ that have been devastated by the so-called “war-on-drugs!”
Moving forward I have spent the last several years advocating for cannabis and psychedelic research and social justice. So, I made a career change to break away from what I was currently doing professionally and put my 44 years of experience in the medical field and my skills to advocate for social justice and research. From there, I supported a network of patient care individuals to justice-involved cannabis professionals and partnered with organizations such as CMMNJ, Stockton, Minorities 4 Medical Marijuana, etc.
Currently, I serve as the Special Executive Advisor for F.E.M. where we explore uses for all plant medicines and we propel research with grace, science, and strategy. In one of our more recent endeavors, we are in preliminary discussions to test plant medicines including CBD and other Psychedelics in deep space before the end of 2023. Stay tuned.

She is an MD from Brazil, specializing in internal medicine, and has an MSc in Aerospace Medicine (USA) and a PhD in Space Physiology from King’s College London (UK). She worked for 3 years as a researcher at DLR, Germany, before establishing and coordinating the Microgravity Centre, PUCRS for 18 years.
